Xbox 360 X-Clamp Replacement Tutorial

I didn’t write it, so I’m not taking credit for it. I’m just hosting it here because trying to get it from Megaupload is bullshit. Iakes too damn long. ALSO, I converted it to a .PDF. GET THE lawdawg0931 TUTORIAL HERE(CLICKY) :)

HERE is RBJtech’s METHOD. It’s a little different, but also works well :)

*edit* In the conversion, some of the old stuff got shuffled around. Both links are updated and should be viable again. Thanks to Interference for letting me know!

Networking the Xbox 360 and Windows Media Player 11 (WMP11)

I see a lot of people having problems networking their Xbox 360 and their PC over home networks. I see even more people who complain that Windows Media Player 11 sucks compared to Windows Media Connect.

WMP11 is more stable and reliable than WMC ever was. The most common problem is something simple that we don’t really consider. Microsoft should’ve added better documentation regarding the process, but they didn’t.

Since existing documentation sucks, and I see so many problems, I figured I’d write a (hopefully) simple tutorial to getting your network squared away as it pertains to the 360-PC connection.

First, start by deleting any existing connections stored on the 360 HDD. This is the single biggest problem when we upgrade to WMP 11, is that the old connection (the one we used with WMC) no longer works. On your 360 dashboard, navigate to the system blade. Select Computers. Select Windows-based PC , and then press A. Select Disconnect. Press B until you get back to the System blade. At this point, make sure you have your PC on with WMP 11 running (just to be safe).
Second, let’s make the connection again. This time, though, on the PC we’ll use WMP 11.
Go to the Media blade, select Music, Picture or Photos. Select Computer , and then press A. Select YES, Continue , and then press A. Select your Windows XP-based PC, and then press A.

Third, we need to allow the connection on the PC. This is another spot where people get lost with the new WMP (I did at first too. It took a lot of noodling). With WMP 11 open, right-click on the top of the WMP 11 window to get this:

Next, select Tools:

And then Options:

Once the Options pane opens, select Library:

The last thing we should need to do is to allow the 360 connection to the PC, like this:

Now that you have established a new connection to the PC, and allowed it, you should be able to freely stream music, pictures, and some videos.
